Frequently Asked Installation Questions
When is the best time of year to replace my windows or doors?
Windows can be installed winter, spring, summer, or fall. Spring and fall are always our busy times of year. We’d recommend taking advantage of the less busy off-seasons when wait times are typically less, or reaching out to us well ahead of your preferred install window to ensure timeframe availability.
Can I have windows installed in the winter?
Yes! We recommend replacing your windows or doors as soon as it’s feasible for you to do so. There is no need to suffer through another cold or uncomfortable winter. Winter installation is a great opportunity to truly appreciate the improvements and compare the difference your new windows make! AGranger has systems in place to make winter installation just as accessible as any other time of the year. By replacing just one window or door at a time, having installers work both inside and outside the home simultaneously and utilizing many other strategies, there is no need to wait until spring or summer to replace your windows.
How long does installation take?
Depending on how many windows or doors you are replacing, installation can vary between half a day to a week or more for bigger projects. You can read about the different types of installs here and find out how they factor into the length of the install. Feel free to ask our office for an approximation of how long your specific project will take.
Do I need to be present while installation takes place?
The short answer is no. While it can be helpful sometimes for owners to be on site should a question arise, our team is extremely skilled in navigating everything that might come up during the process. We take the extra time with you during the estimating process to be thorough and go through as many preferences with you ahead of time so that the day of installation is seamless and straight forward. Should a question arise, it’s usually nothing that a quick phone call can’t answer.
Will the install process be disruptive?
Our team works very hard to be as efficient as possible. While this will be a construction site, and you should take care ahead of time to prepare the space for such, our installers will do the best they can to work around you while in the home and leave the space as tidy as possible afterwards. While some dust may settle over the next day, in general it will be very minor for the amount of construction that has taken place!
